We begin our Kathmandu day tour at 9:00 am when we pick you up from your hotel in Kathmandu. We then proceed on our trip with an expert local tour guide. First, we visit the Swayambhunath Stupa which is a very popular Buddhist temple among pilgrims and others alike. The temple has several statues and pictures of Lord Buddha. Moreover, there is also a temple devoted to Saraswati – the Hindu Goddess of learning. So, this temple is essentially a fusion of Buddhism and Hinduism.
Our next destination is Kathmandu Durbar Square. The place was the royal residence of the Malla kings in the 17th century. There are numerous temples, courtyards, and architectural constructions that reflect the culture of medieval times.
Now we travel towards Bouddhanath Stupa as we continue our Kathmandu Day Tour. Notably, the Buddhist monastery is an ideal destination to experience the Buddhist culture. With a height of 36-m, it is one of the biggest stupas in South Asia. The area also hosts numerous restaurants where we’ll have our lunch.
Finally, our last destination is probably the most significant Hindu heritage of Nepal; the Pashupatinath Temple. The temple is believed to have been built in the 5th century and redesigned later by the Malla kings. However, the sanctity of the site dates back to thousands of years ago when a Shiva Lingam was found there.
Our Kathmandu day tour concludes with the Pashupatinath temple. We will then ride back to our hotels before nightfall.
