Best Time for Canyoning in Lwang

Canyoning at Lwang Ghalel depends on the water flow in the canyon. Autumn (October to November) and spring (March to May) offer the best balance of enough water for slides and jumps without dangerous currents.

During the monsoon (June to September) the water can become too high and fast, so trips may be postponed on the guide's decision. In winter (December to February) the water is cold, but wetsuits make it manageable on sunny days.

How Hard is Canyoning in Lwang?

No previous canyoning experience is needed. Your certified guides teach the rope and rappelling technique on the spot before you descend, including the 50 m waterfall rappel.

You should be reasonably fit, comfortable in water and able to follow instructions calmly. Swimming ability is a big advantage. Canyoning is not suitable if you have heart, back or joint problems, or if you are pregnant.
