Mardi Himal Trek 3-day express route

3 Days Mardi Himal trek the shortest trek designed for professional trekkers and athletes like trail runners. You require a fast pace and endurance. This trek is not highly recommended for beginner-level hikers with a weak fitness level. The three-day trek is fast-paced and hurried. The trek starts early from every stop.

  • Day 1: Pokhara to Forest Camp
  • Day 2: Forest Camp to High Camp
  • Day 3: High Camp to Pokhara

Mardi Himal Trek 4-day moderate pace (the ideal balance)

4 Days Mardi Himal trek requires a moderate pace. On this trek, you have to walk for 6-7 hours every day. You will cover around 60 km (37.28 miles) of distance. The highest elevation is 4,500 meters, which is the elevation of Mardi Base Camp.

Routes of 4 Days Mardi Trek:

  • Day 1: Pokhara to Forest Camp
  • Day 2: Forest Camp to High Camp
  • Day 3: High Camp to Mardi Base Camp and back to Badal Danda
  • Day 4: Badal Danda to Pokhara

 

Mardi Himal Trek 5-day moderate pace

5 Days Mardi Himal trek is ideal for everyone. On this trek, you have to walk for 6 hours on average every day. You will cover around 50 km (31 miles) of distance by trekking. The highest elevation is 4,500 meters at Mardi Base Camp.

  • Day 1: Pokhara to Pritam Deurali 
  • Day 2: Pritam Deurali to Low Camp
  • Day 3: Low Camp to High Camp
  • Day 4: High Camp to MBC return to Badal Danda

Mardi Himal Trek 7-day leisurely option (for photography and immersion)

The 7 days Mardi Himal trek is the best trek for completely and slowly immersing oneself in nature and culture. You stroll, watching and observing the lush green forest and the majestic view of Machhapuchre peak. You have to walk for 5 hours on average daily, covering around 58 km (36 miles) of distance by trekking. The highest elevation is 4,500 meters at Mardi Base Camp.

Mardi Himal Trek can be accessed in all seasons. You can enjoy the majestic mountain view of Annapurna South (7,219m | 23,684 ft), Fishtail Peak (6,993 m |22,943 ft), the Traditional villages of Mardi, and the warm welcome of locals across 12 months. However, there are pros and cons to every season. Therefore, we have adjusted the itinerary based on seasons.

Siding Village Traditional Homestay

Siding lies on the route to the Mardi trek descent. It is located at an elevation of 1,750 m. Siding Homestay gives you the experience of the traditional cultures of the Gurung people. You can indulge in the traditional music and cuisine of the Gurung community. They offer you authentic organic foods grown in their own garden.

Kokar (Forest Camp) Hidden Rhododendron Grove Exploration

Located in the trail of Forest camp, it is off the main trail of Mardi. You can lose yourself in the vibrant color of the Rhododendron forest. Especially during the spring season when the forest is decorated with the vibrant red color of Rhododendron. 

Pitang and Ghalel Village

This side trip is near Sidding Village. 1 - 2 hour walk from the main trail of Mardi Himal takes you to Ghalel. Symmetrical terraced farming, welcoming locals, and a traditional lifestyle make the palace a beautiful sight for side trip. There are almost no tourists, making perfect destination for peace seekers away from the hustle and bustle of Pokhara.

Best Sunrise & Sunset viewpoints at Mardi Trek

Upper Viewpoint 

Located at an elevation of 4,200 meters above sea level, Upper Viewpoint gives the most amazing sunrise and sunset view. Along with the sunrise and sunset, you can indulge in the panoramic views of Machhapuchre, Himchuli, and Annapurna South mountains.

Badal Danda

Badal Danda is located at an elevation of 3,210 m. It is another great viewpoint that gives you a magical view of sunrise and sunset. The orange sunrays lighting the peak of Fishtail is an astonishing view from the Badal Danda. Watching the clouds covering the valley down below is another most magical things to see from the viewpoint.

Mardi Himal Trek starts from Pokhara, the tourism capital of Nepal. Trek can be started from four different locations in Pokhara. Astam, Phedi, Dhampus, and Kande. The journey starts from Pokhara (822 m). Gradually to Dhampus, Pothana, Forest Camp, Low Camp, Upper Viewpoint, and to Mardi Base Camp (4,500 m). Helicopter tour to MBC is the easiest and luxuary otions for people with time limit. Heli ride is around 12 to 15 minute long with the aerial view of Pokhara landscapes rivers and mountain ranges. It is generally doen in the morning around 6 to 7 am with 5 people only.
